Graduated from Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in 2002 and completed his general surgery specialisation at Pamukkale University. Since 2009 he has practised advanced laparoscopy and obesity surgery only.
In 2021 the Surgical Review Corporation awarded him the Master Surgeon designation in metabolic and bariatric surgery. Operations take place at Kent Health Group.

Accreditation
Who grants the title, and on what evidence?
Master Surgeon is not a title the clinic awards itself. It is granted by the Surgical Review Corporation, an independent US-based review body, after it examines the applying surgeon and the place where the surgery is performed. The review covers:
Surgical volume
The number of procedures performed and their continuity are reviewed.
Equipment and facility
The equipment and infrastructure standards of the operating site are inspected.
Written clinical pathways
Standardised procedure steps and care protocols are required.
Patient education
A system ensuring the patient understands the process and its risks is required.
Outcome monitoring
Continuous measurement of outcomes and quality assessment is mandatory.
Continuing education
At least 24 hours of field-specific continuing medical education every three years.
